Miniature Schnauzer is a robust, active dog of terrier type, and resembles his larger cousin, the Standard Schnauzer, in general appearance. Shih-Tzu, The Japaneese Lion Dog

















The Shih Tzu dog breed has its origin in Japan. This small sturdy dog is covered over with an abundant double coat of long hair lined with a woolly undercoat. Shih Tzu is a proud looking little dog and has hair above the nose growing upward. The breed is characterized by its long, flowing double coat; sturdy build; intelligence; and a friendly, energetic, lively attitude.

The Shih-Tzu is an alert and spunky little dog. Ideally, height at withers is 9 to 10½ inches; but, not less than 8 inches nor more than 11 inches. Ideally, weight of mature Shih Tzu dogs range from7 to 16 pounds.

Responsible and legit breeders breed dogs as close as possible to the breed standard, which does not recognize "toy" or "imperial" Shih Tzu. Shih Tzu far below the normal weight range for the breed may have health problems. If you want a truly tiny dog, select another breed like poodle. This is not the best.

Deviation in height of more than one inch from standard either way and u or overshot bite is considered as a disqualification for the Golden Retriver breed.

The median life span for Golden Retrievers is approximately 10 to 12 years.

Yorkshire Terrier - The Yorkies breed

Labrador Retriever, the hunting dog



The Labrador Retriever, is one of several kinds of retriever dogs , a type of gun dog. It is also called Labby or Lab for short. It is widely used for hunting purposes. There are two types of Labradors, the English
Labrador
and the American Labrador. Records and suveys show that Labrador Retriever is the most popular dog breed in world counting by registered ownership.

Labs are highly affable, gentle, exceptionally intelligent, energetic and good natured, making them both excellent companion and working dogs. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly
with children and equable with other dogs. They need human attention. Unsocialized dogs are reserved with strangers. This wonderful hunting breed comes in three colors - yellow, black and chocolate.

The Labrador breed was actually developed in Newfoundland. From there he moved to
England, probably with fishermen who worked the rich fisheries off the coast
of the eastern Canadian provinces. There, in order to avoid confusion with the
larger, heavy-coated Newfoundland dog, there he was called the Labrador. The original
Labrador Retriever was a versatile working dog, able to rescue drifting nets,
bring back shot waterfowl, and haul the catch to market in jog carts. Once in
England, however, his marvelous nose brought him fame as a hunting dog, a job
he relishes today.

Doberman Pinscher, the working dog breed


The Doberman Pinscher or simply Doberman is a breed of domestic dog. They were originally bred as a tracking,police or guard dog and today they excel as family and guard dogs.The breed is well known as an alert, intelligent,and loyal companion dog.

The Doberman, or Dobie as he is now called by his friends, is a fine product
of Germany. Herr Louis Doberman developed this versatile breed in the
Apolda region of Germany to suit his own need for a loyal, obedient,
fiercely protective dog to accompany him in his nightly rounds as a
policeman. Since he also worked as the local dogcatcher, Herr Doberman
had access to a wide variety of dogs to develop his large "pinscher" or
terrier. Some of the breeds used to shape the Dobie include the pinscher , Rottweilers, and Thuringian
Shepherds. Other breeds that contributed their genes are black
Greyhound for elegance and sleekness, Great Dane, Weimaraner and German
Shorthaired Pointer.

Although the breed standards
vary among kennel and breed clubs, the dog typically stands between 26
to 28 inches 27.5 being ideal, the bitch is typically
somewhere between 24 to 26 inches, 25.5 being ideal.

Dachshunds are a very clownish breed and can be very mischievous at times. A very intuitive dog, the Dachshund is now most commonly used as a companion rather than a hunter. The standard size was developed to scent, chase, and flush badgers and other burrow-dwelling animals, while the miniature was to hunt rabbits.Dachshunds are recognized by their long bodies and short legs. Their design is the epitome of form following function. They are low to the ground, which allows them to enter and maneuver through tunnels easily. Their senses are all well developed too.They have an average life span of 12-15 years. The standard Dachshund weighs between 15 – 25 pounds and stands to about 5-10 inches at the shoulder, while the miniature Dachshund weighs approximately 9 pounds and stands a maximum of 14 inches at the shoulder.

The German Shepherd Dog, is also known as "the Alsatian". It is very strong , well proportioned, alert,full of life and handsome dog.The dog looks longer than tall, deep-bodied, and presents before an outline of smooth curves rather than angles. This breed forms a nice pet dog for homes.

The German Shepherd Dog is longer than tall, and the most desirable proportion as 10 to 8½. The length is measured from the point of the breastbone to the rear edge of the pelvis, the ischial tuberosity. The required height for males at the top of the highest point of the shoulder blade is 24-27 inches, and for bitches, 22 to 24 inches. The desirable long proportion is not derived from a long back, but from overall length with relation to height, which is achieved by length of forequarter and length of withers and hindquarter, viewed from the side.

The German Shepherd Dog usually varies in color, and mostof the colors are permissible. Strong rich colors are preferred though. Pale or washed-out colors and blues or livers are considered serious faults.
